FAQ
Common questions,
honest answers.
If yours isn't here, just ask.
How long does it take to build a site?
Ten working days once we have what we need from you: logo, photos, copy, services or menu. The system is built for speed, but the clock pauses if anything is missing.
What do you need from me to get started?
Less than you'd think. A short brief asks for your business name and contact details, opening hours and address, six to ten photos, a list of your services or menu items, and a paragraph about who you are. Most clients send it all across in an evening.
What if I don't have good photos?
That's fine. We can use high-quality stock images that actually suit your business, or recommend a local photographer if you want originals. Either way, it won't look like a stock-photo site.
What if my business needs something more complex later, like online ordering or e-commerce?
We build brochure sites: the kind that make people want to ring, walk in, or book by email. If you need a full booking system, online ordering, or proper e-commerce, we'll point you to a specialist. We'd rather refer you on than half-build something outside what we do.
Can I edit the site myself?
On Complete, yes. You get a self-edit admin panel for updating your text, services and photos any time, no code, with one-click undo if you make a mistake. Contact details, hours and legal information stay locked, changeable only by us, to keep things accurate. On Essential, small changes are billed at €70/hour (15 minutes minimum), usually turned around the same day.
Do I own the site?
Yes, fully. The domain is yours, the content is yours, and if you ever move on, you get a clean copy of everything. No lock-in, no data hostage situation.
What happens if I stop the monthly fee?
The site goes offline at the end of the paid period. You can reactivate any time. If you'd rather take it elsewhere, we'll export the content and hand over a tidy package, same as if you'd asked on day one.
Why not just use Wix or Squarespace?
Honestly, for some businesses they're fine. The catch is the time it takes to build something that doesn't look like a Wix template, and the monthly fees that creep up to €30+ once you add a custom domain and basic features. With Kelvi you get a properly designed site for a similar monthly cost, without having to learn anything. If DIY suits you better, we'll happily say so.
What about WordPress?
WordPress can be brilliant in the right hands. It can also be a maintenance headache: slow, vulnerable to plugin conflicts, expensive to fix when things break. Kelvi sites run on simpler technology that's faster, more secure, and cheaper to keep going. The only reason to pick WordPress over Kelvi is if you genuinely need a specific plugin we can't replicate.
Will my site rank on Google?
Every Kelvi site covers the SEO basics: proper page structure, fast load times, mobile optimisation, structured data, sitemap, the lot. We'll also help set up a free Google Business Profile, the single biggest lever for local search. Ranking for competitive terms depends on plenty beyond the site itself, but you'll be on the map and findable from day one.
Are you GDPR-compliant?
Yes. Every site uses privacy-friendly analytics (no tracking cookies, no consent banner needed), keeps form submissions secure and short-lived, and ships with a privacy policy and terms template that match how the site actually works. If you process customer data other ways, like bookings, accounts or newsletters, we'll make sure that's covered too.
Still have a question?
Just ask. We're straightforward people.
No hold music, no ticket number. You'll hear back from the person who builds the sites.
